The diagnostic accuracy of an inclusive three-window ultrasonography assessment for the rapid authentication of endotracheal tube position in RICU

Abstract Background Assurance of proper endotracheal tube (ETT) location is crucial immediately after intubation as undiagnosed esophageal can be catastrophic. The primary purpose for this study to determine the diagnostic accuracy evaluate an inclusive three-window ultrasonography assessment rapid authentication position in intensive care unit (RICU) with reference Co 2 monitors (capnography) (the gold standard technique), included 100 patients who needed emergency ICU Aswan university hospital. Upon entrance ICU, intubations was done by residents and collective bedside three-windows ultra-sonography (tracheal, lung, diaphragmatic ultra-sonography) carried out instantly Subsequently, correct established resident investigator via use a capnometer. Results Waveform capnography revealed 80 cases (80%) 20 (20%). However, trans-tracheal (TUS) able detect 78 (78%) 22 (22%) patients. SLS detected only 17 from CO2 detectors.
